Abstract

This research is based on the learning result of physical education of sports and health, which is still low. This study aims to improve student learning outcomes of class VI.A at Elementary School 019 Pandau Jaya, District Siak Hulu, Kampar District. This study uses classroom action research with two cycles by applying the cooperative method of type Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD). Based on the results of research, students’ absorption in physical education lessons of sport and health increased significantly: pre-action result was 43.53 (very less good); in cycle I it was 71.76 (good); and in cycle II it was 89.71 (very good). The mastery of individual and classical learning also increased: preliminary data, 8 students (23.53%) unfinished; in cycle I, 25 students (73.53%) unfinished; and in cycle II, 33 students (89.71%) complete. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the cooperative method of type Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) succeeded in improving learning outcomes of physical education of sports and health for class VI.A students at Elementary School 019 Pandau Jaya, Siak Hulu.
