Data collection techniques used participant observation, in-depth interviews, and tests. The results showed that the scientific literacy ability of junior high school students in solving AKM literacy questions in a scientific context based on gender found that female students were superior to male students. The ability of female students is in the medium category while the ability of male students is in the low category.
