Abstract

This research is motivated by the low PKn learning outcomes of fifth-grade students of SD Negeri 009 Pulau Kecamatan Bangkinang Kabupaten Kampar, with a class average value of 63.40. Can be seen from the number of students 16 people, students who completed 7 people (43.75%), while the number of students who have not completed 9 people (56.25%), in accordance with the KKM that has been set by the school is 75. This is due to the way the presentation of material delivered by the teacher does not involve the activities of students, the teacher does not use learning media in explaining learning material, and the teacher applies approaches, models, or methods that are less attractive to students. This study aims to improve Civics learning outcomes with the method of brainstorming on students with the help of graphic image media. This research is a classroom action research (CAR) consisting of III cycles with research subjects of class V SSD Negeri 009 Pulau Kecamatan Bangkinang Kabupaten Kampar. The results of the study showed improvement from each cycle. This can be seen from the increase in PKn learning outcomes from the average base score of 62.50 to 69.06 in the first cycle, in the second cycle it increased to 75.93 and in the third cycle, it increased to 80.94. Improvement of learning outcomes that occurred the base score to UH I was 10.49%, the UH II score became 21.49%, and in UH III became 29.50%, in other words brainstorming methods with the help of graphic image media could improve learning outcomes PKn students
