Abstract

This research was conducted because of the low student social studies learning outcomes. This research was conducted in class Va SD Pekanbaru 125 Pekanbaru. There are 20 students. This type of research was pre-experimental, the research design was one group pretestposttest design, this experiment was conducted in one group without comparison. Based on the results of the study, it is known that the average score of learning outcomes before the treatment (pretest) is 47.5 and the average test of learning outcomes after treatment (posttest) is 87, and the results of hypothesis testing use the t-test with t = 18.711 and t table = 2,093, it can be concluded that tcount> t table, then H0 is rejected, which means that there are differences in social studies learning outcomes in class V students of SD Negeri 125 Pekanbaru between before and after applying the cooperative learning type of the power of two.
