This research is based on the low of mathematics learning result of first grade students, from 32 students only 12 students who reach the minimum specified. This research is a classroom action research that aims to improve student learning outcomes through application of STAD type cooperative learning model. The research was conducted SD Negeri 004 Teluk Binjai, this research was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisted of two meetings and one daily test, the stages of this research are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The result of research indicate that the result of student's mathematics learning increase in each cycle, in cycle I the total number of students who completed is 11 students with average result of learning 68,78. In the second cycle increases with the total number of completed students is 25 students with an average of 78.68.
